Event organizers now have the option to set a close date for submissions. They can continue using the form without a close date (default behavior), set a specific date for the form to close automatically, or close the form immediately at any time. For all existing events and any new events created going forward, the default setting remains “Never Close.” Submission close dates are based on the timezone of the event administrator at the time the date is set.
When Abstract Management is turned on, the submission form toggle and date options are hidden (consistent with previous behavior). In this case, submissions are controlled by the Abstract Management workflow and will close automatically when the current stage is greater than 1 (as before). If an event organizer enables Abstract Management after previously saving values for Presentation Submission locking/editing, those values will be ignored, as Abstract Management settings supersede. If Abstract Management is later turned off, the Presentation Submission toggles/dates will supersede the Abstract Management toggle for disabling/editing submissions. For archived or expired events, submission behavior remains unchanged and supersedes values set by the event administrator in the submission lock form.
