This article is for administrators. If you are a faculty member or student, please see our Resources for Faculty and Staff or Resources for Students section. As an administrator, you can now post new opportunities that will appear under Search > Opportunities for your students and faculty.
If your institution has opted in to this feature, users can now view external opportunities posted by ForagerOne in addition to opportunities shared by your institution. Using the filters on the left-hand side, users can filter opportunities by Affiliation, including your institution or external organizations. Users can also filter by Format and Funding, including paid or virtual opportunities.
You can post opportunities by navigating to the Opportunities tab within your dashboard. Unlike projects, which can be posted by faculty and staff, opportunities are generally offered through programs. For example, they may include grants, fellowships, or other programs such as REUs. Opportunities from outside your institution can also be posted here as external opportunities offered by third-party partners.
To post a new opportunity, select Opportunities in your dashboard, and then select "Add your First Opportunity", as seen in the image below:
Once you have selected "Add your First Opportunity", you can input the following information about the opportunity:
- Title
- Opportunity deadline
- URL
- Description
- Virtual/remote opportunity
- External opportunity
- If your institution has opted in to this feature, you can make an opportunity visible to users at other institutions when the opportunity is open to applicants beyond your institution.

Applications to the posted opportunities will not occur on the ForagerOne platform, so please make sure to use a URL that will bring students to the appropriate information/application page.
Once you have completed filling out your opportunity information, you can confirm your opportunity posting by selecting “Add an Opportunity”, where your opportunity will then populate under Opportunities > Active. You can view how the opportunity appears to users by navigating to Search > Opportunities. If you find that you have inputted any information incorrectly or would like to update your posting, you can edit the information by selecting “Edit”.
If your opportunity has an application deadline, it will appear under the Search > Opportunities page to students and faculty until it reaches the deadline. If you would like to archive an opportunity or remove it from student view, you can do so by selecting “Edit” > “Archive Opportunity". This action will move your project from Opportunities > Active to Opportunities > Archived.
